342 fines in one day: Police step up truck enforcement on California’s SR-60

On Monday, California Highway Patrol (CHP) units conducted a joint “Multi-Division Commercial SEU/Strike Force” along the SR-60 highway, aimed at identifying violations among commercial vehicles, GoCDL.us informs.

As a result, patrols issued 342 fines and 25 warnings to truck and other commercial vehicle drivers.

During the operation, inspectors checked 87 vehicles, of which 26 vehicles and 9 drivers were disabled to address safety concerns.

The main violations included 162 lane-departure incidents, 58 mechanical failures, 30 speeding violations, and a range of other offenses, including violations related to logs, registration, and seat belts.

The planned action was part of CHP’s efforts to enhance safety on California’s heavily trafficked truck roads, involving units from multiple regions of the state. Such operations help identify key violations of the rules among commercial carriers and contribute to reducing accidents on high-traffic roads.
