U.S. Customs Officers Seize Cocaine Worth Over $1.6 Million

On January 31, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers seized a large shipment of cocaine at the Roma International Bridge cargo terminal in Texas. The drugs were hidden inside a truck carrying soft drinks.

During an inspection of the semi-trailer coming from Mexico, officers discovered 50 packages of narcotics with a total weight of 120.15 pounds (54.5 kg).

The estimated black-market value of the seized cocaine is $1,604,262.

The truck, drugs, and driver were handed over to the Roma Police Department. The driver was arrested, and a criminal investigation into drug smuggling is underway.
