The bill on lifting seasonal restrictions on working hours for livestock and agricultural products carriers

The bill on lifting seasonal restrictions on working hours for livestock and agricultural products carriers has been relaunched in the United States.

Nebraska Senator Deb Fischer has reintroduced the Haulers of Agriculture and Livestock Safety (HAULS Act) bill, GoCDL.us informs.

It repeals the requirement that working hours benefits for carriers of agricultural goods and livestock be valid only during the planting and harvesting seasons designated by the states.

The bill clarifies the definition of “agricultural goods” based on feedback from organizations of farmers and livestock breeders. It expands on the previously accepted rule by introducing a 150-mile exemption from the rules of hours of work on the delivery side for such carriers.

“Nebraska farmers and ranchers feed and fuel the world, but burdensome regulations make it difficult to transport their goods,” Fisher said.

The bill is aimed at ensuring timely and safe delivery of agricultural products to consumers.
